My comic is pretty basic. It consists of only one character. He is running along until he comes to some water. The way that I tried to make it appear that he was moving was both through the transition from one comic square to another as well as the motion lines that are, in the first square to the left of him as if he is travelling to the right, and in the last square to the right of him as if he is travelling to the left. The character’s movement can also be interpreted by the position of the cloud within the comic squares. This not only creates the illusion that he is travelling, it also creates the illusion of the passage of time. I chose to keep the comic in black and white, because of its basic nature. There isn’t a lot of action occurring, so I feel like color could have distracted the reader from this. The shapes are also quite basic. There isn’t much detail. If I was to continue the story behind this comic I would most likely give it a little more substance. For example: I envisioned that this monster enjoys playing, particularly in the water, but he also wears his hat all the time. He is not very bright, so this causes problems for him. Character development would be the next step in later comics.
